Dean William Sekona was born in Kolofo‘ou, Nuku‘alofa, Tonga to Palauni Vaha‘i and Kelela Malia Lesina Lui Sekona on July 1, 1965. He married Harvalene Kaleoaloha Latu on April 20, 1991 in Los Angeles, California.
Dean William Sekona graduated from Liahona High School Prep – Havelu Campus, and attended Brigham Young University in Provo and Hawaii. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and valued family, education and service. He will be remembered for his love of life, family, God and country.
Dean William Sekona is preceded in death by his daughter – Mokiana, father – Palauni, and brothers – Manitisa, ‘Ulu.
Dean William Sekona is survived by his wife, Harvalene; son – Dean Jr. and Latai; daughters – Nanasi, Helen, Kelela; mother – Kelela; brothers and sisters – Siua, Mokiana, Selupe, Emeli, Margaret, Esther, Brown Jr., Puanani, Lusakava, Ofa, Polovina, and Nariva.
