Elaine Duke Nelson, 86, of Provo, Utah, passed away peacefully on the 18th of November surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 26, 1934 in Spring Glen, Utah, to her loving and cherished parents Harold S. Duke and Mary Montgomery. She married Donald T. Nelson on June 18, 1954 and was sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Utah Temple.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Donald Tracy Nelson; children Tracy Nelson Radmall (Alan), Mark D. Nelson (Jennifer), Daniel D. Nelson (Kristi), and Christopher D. Nelson (Sherri). Her legacy continues with fifteen adoring grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.

Elaine was talented and excelled in whatever she did. She received her Associates Degree from Carbon College and was a secretary to the college President. She taught shorthand to her own classmates. She later became an executive secretary and worked at both US Steel and Brigham Young University.

She will be remembered as a wonderful example of pure kindness and selflessness to her friends and family. She was a perfect mother and grandmother! She served faithfully in all she was asked to do by her loved ones and her Father in Heaven. Her gentle and tender presence nurtured many and endeared her to all that had the pleasure of associating with her. Even in her final days, she worked tirelessly to comfort those around her in any way she could.

Funeral services will be held for her family at 11:00am on Monday, November 23rd at Nelson Mortuary, followed by graveside services at the Mapleton City Cemetery.

I remember my sweet, friend & longtime neighbor just as she was described by her family. How I missed her when she moved from our neighborhood!!!
She was Beautiful, inside & Angel on earth, & now in heaven above.
Dear family, you honored her magnificently. It was uplifting to be able to view the funeral & hear her honored!
With Love, Dru & David Smith

Dave McDougal told us about Elaine's passing. She was a wonderful roll model for us of devotion, talent, and grace when we were newlyweds. Our association with the two of you when we were students at BYU influenced immeasurably. Thanks to both of you for being wonderful mentors.
