Jake Troy Harper
On Tuesday, September 22, 2020, Jake prematurely moved on from this world, leaving his family and friends who miss him deeply. He was born on July 3, 2000 in Orem Utah to Sandi Ness and Bryan Harper.
Jake brought joy to his family with his dry sense of humor, wit, and mischievous smile. Jake was very quiet but often surprised many with his keen insight and wisdom. He leaves his family with great memories of top-rate wrestling matches, freakish flexibility, grand Nerf wars in the dark, and infectious giggling fits.
Jake lived his life without expectations from the world and never dwelled on the negative. He was a loving brother to his siblings and to his friends. His siblings will miss the fun times they had with Jake, especially playing video games. Often to their annoyance, he was especially good at introducing never-before-seen maneuvers in Super Smash Brothers, provoking their disbelief and frustration.
Jake was a quick learner and often excelled in things he never tried before like ax throwing, archery, clay pigeon shooting, & woodworking. He had a passion for collecting and conquering mind-bending puzzles, especially the Rubik’s Cube (completion under 10 seconds). Jake was also an expert in building metal models and Legos. He loved reading and amazed many by recalling details of stories and characters from books he read years ago.
Jake will be forever missed by his parents and his five siblings Nic, Nya (Austin), Tessa (Cory), Ike, and Harley. He will be greatly missed by his other family and friends, who will be forever affected by his short presence in their lives.
A private service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 for Jake’s family and close friends. For those attending, please wear casual clothes and feel free to wear your favorite video game shirt.
Flowers or other donations may be sent to 835 S 1220 E, Provo, UT 84606 to Jake's mom, Sandi.
