Obituary

Jerry Bruce Ward, 78
Orem, Utah

Passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his children and loving wife on Tuesday, June 30th 2020.

Jerry was born in April of 1942 in Santa Monica, California, the third of ten children, to Louis and Virginia Ward. Jerry attended Fremont High School in Sunnyvale California where he met the love of his life and companion of 56 years, Nancy Jensen.

Jerry served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Florida, Tallahassee mission from 1961-1963.

Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Jensen, in the Los Angeles Temple on September 20, 1963. Together they raised 8 children, Todd Ward (Susan), Carrie Schmutz (Ken), Jeff Ward (Jennifer), Julie Ashton (Alan), Brian Ward (Alyce), Darin Ward (Misty), Scott Ward (Desiree), Stacey Wilding (Jeff) and have been blessed with 33 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren, so far.

While serving his mission, Jerry was introduced to the game of golf and that led to a lifelong passion for the game. That passion has been passed along to his children and many grandchildren.

Jerry and Nancy served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Atlanta, Georgia Temple from 2013-2014.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Virginia and survived by his wife, Nancy and their 8 children and his 9 brothers and sisters.
