Katherine Adams Guile passed away at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center on July 4th, 2020 after she suffered a stroke. Happy birthday, America.

We lose a mother, a nurse, a mentor, a mystery lover, and a being made of music. She could play by ear, once picking out Slash’s guitar rift in “Sweet Child of Mine” within a few seconds of hearing it on her acoustic. Kathy was a creator and provider, taking care of her family outside the home and within, beautifying every space in which she inhabited.

Kathy Guile was an incredible woman, an amazing mother, and loving wife. She taught her children by example what quiet strength is, how deep emotions run, and the art in pragmatism. The final attribute is not flowery or romantic, but true, and so needed. She provided support to her husband as he progressed in his military career, and worked with him to keep their family fed. In good times and in bad, Kathy Guile thrived and made sure her family did as well.

She had a tender heart, loving without thought. Indeed, it is the general belief amongst her family that she died of Broken Heart Syndrome, allowing her to follow her best friend and soulmate in death, onward to Eternal Life.

Katherine Adams Guile is survived by her children, who miss her deeply; no words are enough to describe just how much. We love you, mom. You made us strong.

A memorial is planned for Katherine Adams Guile on July 13th, 2020 at 2pm where she will be interred with her husband, Daniel Lee Guile, and their son Joseph David Guile at Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, located:

17111 S. 1700 W, Bluffdale, UT 84065

There will be signs to guide visitors to their plot; please be mindful of the current restrictions in place regarding the Covid 19 pandemic.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center at in Katherine Adams Guile’s honor.

I add my condolences to your family. My heart goes out to you knowing you have experienced great loss in the last year. I think fondly of our association in the RG 3rd ward where we were raising our children alongside your parents raising all of you. We have many fond memories of our time there and some funny and lighthearted "scout stories" as well. I always think of your Mom as someone who was strong, yet able to smile and laugh and enjoy life to the very best of her ability. I am grateful for the knowlege that you have family on the other side who are rejoicing to be reunited and concerned for you, their children and will be closeby to be at your side through your lives. Love to you...

To the family, my sincere condolences for your loss. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to end all suffering. Before long, God will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and “death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things (will) have passed away.”(Rev. 21:3,4). May this promise from God give you comfort now and a real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.

I have always regarded Aunt Kathy as a very loving and patient woman. I always felt welcomed in their home when we came to visit. It’s very hard for me to see this family go through what they have. I pray that the comforter will be with this family for as long as they need.

Kathy was such a lovely woman. I don't think I ever saw her without a smile. I was so lucky to be her next door neighbor. My boys and I will miss seeing her. Much love to the family she leaves behind.
