On Monday, May 4th 2020, following a short but very difficult two weeks, Marci Renee Colcord Jones passed away in Provo at Utah Valley Hospital.

Marci was born October 25, 1974 to David Knight and Kristine Young Colcord in Provo, Utah. As the oldest of their three children, Marci took the lead as big sister to her little brothers, Brad and Tristan and later to her younger sister Jeni and little brother Zac.

As her family moved around during her life, Marci lived in Provo, Utah, Scottsdale Arizona, Orem, Utah, North Salt Lake City, Utah, Kearns and West Valley City, Utah. And finally, in Price, Utah with her sweetheart, Mike. One thing that was always apparent, Marci was able to make good friends wherever she was. As shown by the many notes of condolences received from far and wide, these friends have remained important to her throughout her life. She remained active in keeping friendships alive regardless of the time which had passed from meeting to the current time frame.

While attending High School at West Jordan High, Marci met Michael William Jones. Their love quickly grew and they were wed September 7, 1991. Soon had their son Michael William II was born, with little sister, Breianna Nicole (Niky) following soon after. They were sealed as a family in the Jordan River Temple in 1993. As a very young married couple Marci and Mike worked and fought hard against the odds. But, now, almost 29 years later they are proof that when you want something bad enough and are willing to fight for that it can be yours.

As a tribute to their amazing love Mike and Marci brought Samy Ables officially into their family as an adopted daughter in the fall of 2018 making official the feelings of the hearts formed over the many years they knew her as Breianna’s best friend. With her came her son Ryker who has always been their grandson.

Marci worked a number of different kinds jobs where she excelled. She never did things half way. She would work to the last minute and then often bring work home with her. Her very favorite jobs were those where she worked for herself. She spent several years selling paparazzi jewelry and Piphany clothing. She had begun working as a consultant/coach for Rockstars Direct where she was able to help folks make their personal business successful. She loved helping others find success and happiness as they pursued their personal goals.

Marci was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith and testimony were actively visible in the life she lived and the love and service she gave. She truly was an example of the perfect Minister.

She is called Nana by Amylia and Cameron Jones, Ryker Perkins, Jaydon, Cody, Alissa and Lilly Ellis

Besides her sweetheart and kids Michael and Breianna (Matt Ellis), and Samy (Doug Oman), Marci will be missed by her Mom, Kris Redford, Sister Jeni Scott and niece, Shaelyn. Brother, Brad (Sarah) Colcord nieces Matty (Victor Maldenado-Reyes) & Jersee, Melodey, Shaylee, nephews Tyler and Austin, Brother Tristan (Marie) Colcord, niece Skyler, Brother Zac (Georgie) Redford niece Sadie and nephew Greyson. Brother Cameron (Lisa) Colcord, nieces Madison and Dahlia, Loving Aunt B (Brenda Young) and multiple other Uncles and Aunts. Father and Mother-in law Paul and Jean Jones, brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter Jones, Karen (Sheldon) Merkley, David (Marcella)Jones, Timothy (Becca) Jones, Aaron (Heather) Jones.

Preceded in death by her father David Knight Colcord, step-father Clark James Redford, brother-in-law Gordon Scott and multiple uncles and grandparents whom she loved dearly.

We love you, Marci! Until we meet again. And we know we will. Keep Watch!
