The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Reed Turnbow can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

And If Your Joy....

There is a marvelous poem "The Dash" and it speaks to what we do between birth and death. Reed was in the life of our family as a missionary. I remember his birthday party in our home when he turned 21. I remember his confirming my mother a member. I remember the pictures of the baptism of my father a year later, in another city, on a business trip, and Reed confirmed him a member. Then, in the ways that missionaries do, he went his way and we went our, but the seeds had been planted. He did keep in contact with my mother through letters for a few years. How she esteemed him as the missionary who had baptized her. In the subsequent fifty years, I have spoken with Reed sporadically. Perhaps I have seen him three or four times as he and his dear wife invited us to their home or come to important events for our family. However, the seeds he sowed have resulted in: My mission to Venezuela. My temple marriage. Our four children all serving missions. One of the young men I baptized in Venezuela stayed faithful and two of his sons served missions and all his childen have gone to the temple and are now raising the third generation in the Gospel. Over two hundred people have received and accepted the Gospel message due to the seeds he planted, with untold effects of what they have done with the impact of Christ in their lives. And how many countless more have had the opportunity on the other side of the veil due to the family history work we are able to do. So, 'beyond grateful' is the only phrase I can use at this poignant time. He has literally affected generations and my eternal salvation. ...And if your joy will be great with the one soul ye have brought unto me in the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me! (D&C; 18:16) Thank you, my dear Brother!
